WA Health, Government of Western Australia

Aligning eight unique legal entities with one best-practice platform

WA Health is Western Australia’s public health system. With a State spanning over 2.5 million square kilometres, it is the largest area in the world covered by a single health authority.

With 40,000 dedicated staff in 2016-2017, WA Health received more than 1,000,000 visits to emergency departments, performed over 86,000 elective surgeries, conducted 157,000 school dental examinations and delivered more than 23,600 babies.

A unique structure

WA Health consists of eight legal entities. This includes Health Service Providers such as Child and Adolescent Health Service, North Metropolitan Health Service, South Metropolitan Health Service, East Metropolitan Health Service, and WA Country Health Service.

CGR developed specific customisations to meet WA Health’s risk management needs, including the provision of CGR Foundation for each of the eight legal entities. This allows each entity to view risks, treatment action plans, controls, and audit data in real time on a State, local, and hospital level.
